We focuses on the design and construction of polar functional materials and devices, so as to develop and study new energy conversion and information conduction mechanisms, and explore the application of these effects in information communication, green energy and physical property characterization. Many novel physical effects have been successfully developed, and their achievements have been published in high-level journals such as Nature, Science, and Nature Nanotechnology. The material systems studied include oxide materials (such as epitaxial films, crystals, ceramics), silicon-based semiconductors, two-dimensional layered materials, and van der Waals heterojunctions.
